1) Of the following, your preferred solo activity:

Drawing, painting, needlework, crafts
Working out
Writing, surfing the net
Playing video games
Gardening, playing with pets
Working on house or car
Reading
Oiling my weapons

2) You're on a hike in the woods, and you realize that the leader is taking the group the wrong way. You:

Politely let the leader know something's wrong; when you're ignored, quietly slip away, find your own way back, and lead a rescue party.
Point out the painted waymarkers that clearly show the route to take.
Remain quietly with the group until it's hopelessly lost. Raise your hand when the leader asks if anyone knows the way back. Lead the way.
Show the leader the guidebook you brought, with its extensive maps.
Don't even realize they're lost, because you've lagged out of sight, dawdling over interesting things along the way. You think you're lost, and figure out how to get back by retracing your path.
Don't hike for fun. Waste of energy. You're back at the campsite having a beer.

3) There's a spider on the wall. You:

Open a window and put it out to fend for itself.
Scoop it carefully into a cup with a piece of paper, bring it outside, find a bush or tree or shed that looks like a good home, and deposit it there.
Watch it for a while, decide that spiders are pretty interesting, then put it either outside or in a container for further study.
Watch it for a while, musing on the metaphorical significance of webspinning's fragile complexity, then return to what you were doing.
Squash its hairy butt. Maybe it's harmless, maybe it's not. You're not going to find out the hard way.
Didn't really need to be in that room anyway.

4) Where do you live?

I always seem to be on the road. It doesn't feel like I live anywhere.
Somewhere far from here, and I'm homesick.
Primarily in my own thoughts.
In the bar down the street.
I'm staying with friends but looking to settle down in a place of my own.
In a place with sad memories that I'd like to leave soon.

5) Of the following, your preferred social activity:

Sports
Drinking
Talking with friends
Classes, school activities
Anything outdoors
I don't like groups

6) Your weapon of choice:

Logic.
A pen.
A sword.
A gun.
My fists, knees, elbows, teeth, and whatever comes to hand.
Kindness.
My legs and feet--to get me out of there.

7) At parties, you:

Drink, dance, raise hell!
Find a corner and hope no one will notice that you're by yourself.
Warmly entertain everyone around you, telling jokes and stories, introducing people around, making sure everyone's comfortable and having fun.
Spend a lot of time checking out the host's bookshelves and album collection. You might get into a conversation about novels and music. Or you might take over the audio system and play DJ.
Like to talk politics and current events--real conversations, not chitchat.
Are usually the host or helping the host out--serving drinks, lending a hand in the kitchen, etc.

8) Your favorite kind of movie or TV show:

Light romance with a happy ending
Mysteries, historicals, period pieces
Action-adventure
Classics, indies, foreign-language films
Anime

9) You've been a loyal employee for many years, but lately your company is engaging in some ethically questionable activities. You:

Stay at the company and work doggedly and unobtrusively from within to change things.
Stay at the company but don't follow orders you disagree with.
Stay at the company and protest clearly and firmly. When you get fired, go to the media as a whistleblower.
Stay at the company. Daydream at your desk about quitting. You're miserable, but there'll be nasty repercussions if you leave.
Leave the company and go to a competitor--or the authorities.
Leave that company and start your own (or become a freelancer).

10) As a kid, at recess you were most likely:

Reading a book.
Chatting and gossipping with your friends.
Playing sports.
Sitting by yourself thinking, daydreaming, or just watching the other kids.
Acting out TV shows or movies, or playing house or war or let's-pretend.
Defending the smaller kids from bullies and teasing.
Playing hopscotch, or drawing in chalk on the pavement.
Getting into fights in the schoolyard.

11) What you like most about yourself:

Being creative
Being smart
Being compassionate
Being loyal, courageous, and/or never giving in to adversity
Having a great capacity for love
Having mysterious, possibly dark depths
Honesty and integrity
Surviving in spite of your fears
Being persuasive
Being articulate

Why are there twelve questions here when most surveys have ten or less?

Because, because, because!
What will happen if I don't know the answer?

Put an end on this bloody, benighted thing before I shove it down your throat.
Why not nine questions?
That should be "ten or fewer."
